Still feels pretty surreal that I didn't have to wake up for school today hahaha. So today I did the first exciting thing of 2015, something I've been wanting to try for awhile: get a Bwax
Getting a bwax sounds rlly scary at the start, but I've read up abt it enough for almost a year now to just feel a bit more assured HAHAHA. After talking to people & reading reviews etc., it seems to me that a bwax is defo gonna be painful, but bearable for most. I've never tried waxing of any sort before so the thought of a wax is quite nerve wrecking HAHAHA

I was just scrolling through groupon and saw one for bwax. It must've been a YOLO moment because I immediately called to book an appointment haha. It was $18, quite a reasonable price for a bwax!

I'm not going to list out all the benefits of waxing and all cuz like
1. didn't decide to do a wax based on it's benefits
2. it can be found all over the web

ootd hehe
The process was really simple. Enter the place, go to the toilet, clean with baby wipes and the waxing begins. The whole thing was also done very professionally! I was told it would take around 30-45 mins, especially since it was my first time.
True enough, it took about 40-45 mins for me :-)

My reaction after the bwax? looked a bit something like this:

HAHAHAHAHA
It was quite painful for me... hahaha. After the whole thing I literally just looked like the pic above. Went on whining to Leon about how it was so painful and everything HAHAH. But honestly, I was just SO glad it was over. I will never understand how people can sign packages for bwaxes and put themselves through this every few months TT___TT. Newfound respect for anyone who does waxing regularly HAHAHA
I was definitely quite pleased with the outcome though! But I think other less painful alternatives to getting a bwax will suffice for me. Everyone should try it at least once tho hahaha it is quite an interesting experience.

Will I go back again? probably not, because I'm such a pussy HAHAHA T.T

Price: 5/5 (for a first timer price)
Pain level: 4/5
Awkwardness level: 2/5

Thank you for accompanying me down and dealing with whiny me after :p

Chinese O levels: to retake or not

I should be studying right now but I was JUST going to when I realised,
Tmrw's the release of Chinese Os results!
Good luck to everyone who's getting back their mother tongue results, be excited heh :-)
& to those who don't take chinese or mother tongue........

...........

So in the light of the special day tmrw for my juniors and many others, I thought i'll just blog about my O level chinese experience: doing the exam, getting back my results, going through it, deciding to retake or not etc.
Anyway my blog's quite dead so yup opportunity for revival and maybe offer my 2 cents for people who wants it -l o l-

Prepping and doing the exam:
My school really prepared us for the papers, and although it was relatively torturous, I think it REALLY helped me. We had intensive chinese week, which is basically a week of just doing papers non-stop everyday. As in, not continuously 24/7, but daily. We would do like sets and sets and other school papers (including comp and email writing). It was tedious for us la (DUH) but even more so for the teacher (YES they had to mark). Why did I think it really helped? Cause many people don't really take chinese lessons and homewk seriously (like me lol) and I really am not in touch with chinese, like in terms of writing and vocab... damn shitty haha. I don't pass up homewk unless my tcher damn pissed of or.. so yeah you get my drift. So the intensive week was really my saving grace :')

After the exam:
I was damn happy. Like for real. I didn't feel extremely good about the paper ( i never do for chinese haha) but I found it manageable :-) Although I knew that there might just be a possibility that I had to retake... deep down there was this part of me that was determined to not do chinese for Os ever again. I just knew it

Results day:
I rmb waiting with my schoolmates, waiting for our results. We were fretting like crazy HAHA good ol' times :')
I rmb telling my friend smth like:
"Eh if God want me to retake let me get E8 then if he dont want then give me A plsssss"
I was really hoping to get like a distinction, not for like pride but more of the fact that i don't have to think about whether to retake or not :-(
I GOT B3 haha

Retake or not?:
The moment I got B3 I knew God wanted me to decide, like it's right smack in the middle :-(
I was a bit disappointed but I knew I did my best. I got Merit for oral, which was not surprising cause i screwed oral up. My teacher wanted me to consider retaking cause he felt like I can get an A. but I really didn't want to retake cause Os was so near, and not like my other results v good that I can afford to spend time on Chinese. Also, I threw away everything in my mind that was Chinese related after the papers HAHA so I was rusty already. Plus, with the Chinese intensive week + I gave my best + never take with the other HMT students; I would think it's the best I can get.
Just imagine taking at the end of the year with the HMT students..........
In the end, I didn't retake. It really wasn't an easy decision because I had 6 subjects (dropped pure sciences to comb sci to secure my A), and I had a DSA offer so I had to use my R5.
BUT I really don't regret it :-)
I mean, Chinese was really like a distraction, v extra. HAHA maybe not to a major extent but in some way it was. Also, i mean if you already gave your best and had all the help you can get then maybe that's the best you can get? I didn't think I would be able to jump another grade up, and I didn't wanna waste my time trying :( In a way it motivated me to study even harder for my other subjs, cause I knew I had B3 for my Chinese already.

SO YUP!
For all those who are getting back your results tmrw, all the best :-) If you didn't do that well, or not up to your expectations, plsssssss pls think twice and thrice if you should retake! Don't regret any decision you make :-)
Hope this post has helped some one out there in a way or another, if not, thank you for reading anyway :-)

Battle of the nose strips.

HI GUISEEEEEEE. okay sorry for being too over enthusiastic, I've got so many things to blog about and all man srsly haha.
Mmmmm k today it's the battle of the three nose strips. Okay ah actually 4 but I threw one of the box away alr so yup.
I'm like a damnnnnn cheapskates person, like I try to buy things that don't cost much if possible. Like I hardly buy $29.90 and above clothes..... Always like 10$-15$ hahaha (& I'd still think it's a bit ex omy).
Buying a nose strip/pore pack it's like my cheap thrill heh. I just love doing it! I know people will say it makes your skin saggy or wtv but srsly, whateberrrr heh. Of course I don't do a nose strip everyday, that's just madness! I'd just like do it once in awhile..... Like when I'm feeling moody on pms days or when I'm feeling like an oily shit hahaha!
Mmmmm so I love exploring the different brands cause they don't really differ thatttttttt much in price I guess.
So today I was walking around tamp one and went to watsons with my mum. I haven't done a nosestrip in damnnnnn long alr cause I did a blackhead removal thingy @ scape flea. It works man, 5$ only somemore! I swear super shiok...... But the embarrassment of sitting outside the entrance of scape looking like avusvxdkeosbwigzydhd isn't shiok AT ALL hahaha.
So I decided to grab a pore pack uh.
Did it like about awhile ago and tadaaaaaa decided to do a post on it heh, see I love my readers okay haha.
Mmmmmm so the brands I'm reviewing are:
1. Guardian (house brand)
2. Biore (black strips, resort edition)
3. Heal pharm (black strips)
4. Acne (yes that's the brand's name.)

Before I continue, I wanna apologize for the lousy arrangement of photos, I'm using the blogger app cause I don't have a lappy so please pardon me alright! Second, this is just my opinion so yup don't hate on me cause I'm voicing out what I think hahah.

1. Guardian.
Hmmm I didn't plan to try out the house brand cause like well, I don't usually choose housebrands if I had the choice. But I was low on $$$ and my urge to wanna do a nose strip was extremelyyyyyy overwhelming haha. It was the cheapest porepack, I think like 3.90$? Cause the other brands were like 4.90$-5$.
So I just grabbed it and hope I'll satisfy my craving to do a nose strip.
That was really a terrible decision man. The house brand is terrible.
It's so not sticky and like doesn't get any black heads out! Like extremely minimal. I was so pissed/sad/emo cause it left my nose area feeling so annoyed and disgusting.
It comes in a box of 10 strips, and like for this post I realized I didn't throw some porepack boxes away! And guess what I found in the guardian one? An unused nosestrip! Ahahaha. But no way am I gonna use it eeeeeew.

2. Biore (resort thingy)
Okay this one it was on sale thats why I bought it heh (extremely cheapskate I know!). It was like in the round plastic display try at the cashier so I just thought why not?
I love it! It's so nice. Firstly, I think the resort version thingy is no longer on sale cause I don't see it ard anymore...... The reason why it's resort version it's cause it has this nice fragrant smell when you use it! Cool or cool? And there's like two different kinds of smell :))))
They were strips that are black in color which is a great plus point, cause it allows you to see whatever came out HAHAHA okay.
Awesome ah.
Rating: 8/10

3. Heal pharm.
I bought this one today! Hehehe cool huh. It was the cheapest and cutest looking lol. It's like 3.90$?
So hmmm I guess it's not bad, comparable to biore. It came in black too so that's great :) I guess it's rather average and it's price is not bad! ;)
Rating: 7/10

Alright so on the whole.... I guess I'd still prefer biore? Cause many people tell me it's great to use, like haini just tweeted me heh.
Alrighty, have a great night!
