transiting to uni life

I honestly planned to write this post way earlier, but I guess everything has been so rushed… 

I really couldn’t find time in between. Well, better late than never? ;)

So here goes, I’m leaving for the UK, Manchester, today for university studies. This whole going to the uk thing is extremely rushed and all… half the time I don’t even know if it has actually sunk in yet haha. I’ve been so busy with applying for the course, preparing for it, deciding whether to go or not and packing my bags. Everything happened within an extremely short time frame actually. 

Here’s kinda how it went,

2nd March 2015 (results day): Made my application

9th March 2015: Got my offer

10th March 2015: Did IELTS & booked air tickets

11th March 2015: Made payment 

13th March 2015: Pre departure talk

14th March 2015: Received Student visa

16th March 2015: Accommodation details finalised 

18th March 2015: Airport pick up confirmed

so yeah haha. I’m leaving for the uk today... and I think it won’t hit me until I actually reach the airport and bid farewell to my family and friends. Transiting into uni has come way faster than expected, and I don’t know how I’m going to cope with it haha. I'm thankful I spent the past 3-4 months just relaxing and working, sleeping and waking up at my own time haha aka I thoroughly relaxed HAHA. 

I guess the hardest thing is the fact that I'm going overseas for uni. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm INSANELY thankful for this opportunity, especially give it's high cost :-( but thing is I never actually saw the possibility of me going overseas for uni. And it doesn't help that Leon is away in Taiwan for army :-( he left end feb and we don't even get to have a proper farewell and all ;-( 

ah well, some things just gotta be done & time waits for no one. 

I have been SO busy I haven't even had time to sit down and feel sad over how i'll miss everyone haha. And because of this I already know for sure that I will be so terribly homesick. With great things come great sacrifices, I will be missing so many things while I'm away... 

like Leon's milestones (official red beret presentation, ORD parade, marching for NDP), going for concert with the younger brother, time with grand parents, watch brother collect O levels result etc....

:-(

But I guess home is wherever the heart is, so it doesn't really matter that much where I physically am. 

As much as I am very tentative towards entering into this new phase of my life, I'm definitely excited. Excited to finally have a concrete direction again in my life after 3-4 months of pretty much idling around HAHAHA. And I know with all the sacrifices I make, I'll make the most of my time to make my gains > loses.

Although I'm heading over to the UK.. I'm still me hehe and nothing will change that ever. Maybe a new & improved version will come about soon, who knows? ;-) I'll definitely try to keep my life updated on here hehe.

 The very first time I was tasked to do Opening at my (previous) workplace. 

I arrived on time + opened the shop without anything going wrong, hence a victory selfie HAHAHA

Sad face because the place for staff to eat or rest during our breaks is truly SAD and pathetic I feel :-( Can't blame the company either because the shop isn't all that big, and space is prioritised for clothes display... but still :-( it's literally a small corner tucked away haha.
