Finally knocked some sense into my head.

"If it's meant to be, it will eventually be"

O level results

What I wore today hehe the color so pretty.

-

Hi all! Long time no blog man srsly haha. Currently in the car now so I decided to blog hehe. Okay so, tmrw O level results will be released. How fast time flies! I'm already in J2 hahaha.

I remember how it felt taking my Os results though :-) I was the first one to get cause index number 1 haha. I took my results, when to meet my parents outside the hall immediately and like told them my results. I didn't do exceptionally well, but according to my standards, I was satisfied and yes that's all that matters.
I didn't tell many ppl my results though, till now I just don't like telling people ah haha.
My parents and I were just super happy because I was officially in raffles! And that really lifted a huge burden off me, cause like I didn't have to do the JAE process and mull over where to go. My results slip already said I'm posted to raffles institution :-)
That's the good part I guess, cause I didn't have to tell people my score! Just say I made it to raffles and they'll just be like wah congrats. Haha.

Of course the SMSes came and people probed and all. But well, can't blame them I was rlly curious abt others also! One thing though, leave school ASAP if you wanna like avoid people asking you stuff and all haha.

One thing I learnt after going into post secondary sch education was that:
it doesn't really matter that much.

I know people will start saying, ll wtf of course it'll matter. Yeah it'll def determine where you're going, JC/poly/private. But at the end of the day it really doesn't matter.

After awhile, many of my school mates went to different places. Sure, our convos were mostly abt where everyone went to and all for the first few months, but over time no one really cared who went where. It was more of how they are coping, whether school was fun, how's the culture, wah poly start sch in April so late, my OG got no cute guys/girls etc.

It meant a lot to me cause I thought like after going to different schools, people will keep asking abt your results or like judge you based on that. But that's the thing, over time it was more of how you're coping etc., it wasn't all abt results :-)

To everyone who is getting results back tmr, something you can do for yourself (I feel) is to match your results against your personal expectations. Some people feel that good results are straight As, but for others getting an A for certain subs and B for others will make them very happy already :-)

Why do I say this?

Yeah it may not seem very impt. But it really is impt. When you get your results back, you may be very happy and glad abt how you did. However the moment you start comparing with other people, you may feel sad that you didn't get all As or like you would feel that you did badly.

The thing is, whether you did well or not is determined by you. You decide if your results are good, not whether you managed to meet your teachers' or parents expectations. Only you can make yourself feel disappointed, and only you can make yourself feel happy. :-) Set according to your own personal standards, because if you always match it to others' you'll never be happy with yourself!

I will probably text my juniors tmr and ask them how it went :-)
I'm really nervous for all of them also haha idekw.

If anyone happens to need any post O level advice, regarding schools or subjs or courses, please text your seniors! It really helps when you ask people that have been there done that for advice :-)

On a side note, DROP BY FOR RJ's OPEN HOUSE! Even if you don't qualify just come anyway, take a look around, get goodie bag heh. The school is quite a nice place :-)
